Mikael’s Whiteboard Reflections Part 3

One of the phrases Mikael had written on his whiteboard was “What beautiful creatures we are. See the light. See the good. It’s there if you look for it.” The other day, I did a short talk at an event for International Drug Overdose Awareness Day. One of the things I talked about was how finding joy helps us on our journey of healing. This phrase reminds me that joy is there if we look for it. If we find joy in the everyday things that we see and do, it strengthens us. When we have days where our grief drags us into the abyss, those moments of joy intertwine together to create a safety net of comfort and strength. This is what helps us climb our way out of the pit. God provides us with so many moments of joy in our lives and all we have to do is, as Mikael said, “See the light. See the good.”
