Ice Candle

Last Christmas someone left an ice candle for us in our yard. It was beautiful and such a thoughtful gift. It’s glittering candle light somehow brought me peace and made me think about Mikael every time I looked out the window as it glowed in the night. I still have no idea who left that candle for us but I kept it burning for the rest of the winter. This winter, I continued with the tradition. I put out an ice candle for Mikael and will keep it burning in his memory. I hope that whoever left the candle for us last year reads this and knows what a special tradition they have started for me. I also think that it’s good to know that when we do simple acts of kindness, such as leaving a candle, they go such a long way to helping others. We may not always get to see the effect of our actions, but they make such a difference.
